hey all.
I just picked up a fairly clean '89 B2200 SE5 2WD standard cab a couple weeks ago for $1800 cdn & certified with only 128 400km! Body is clean, but she needs a new front bumper and a couple small holes in the bed to be patched before they get any worse. She's charcoal grey on burgundy, and it's super clean inside, except for the typical Mazda fading bur-green-dy. I've got a small oil leak, which looks like it's coming from the timing cover or the crank pulley, but it's somewhere down at the bottom front of the motor. I'm keeping an eye on that at the moment.
Anywhoo,I've only had the truck on the road for a week and ahalf and I've put new tires on it,a Tonneau Masters clamp on vinyl tonneau cover, tinted the windows 22% on the sides and 13% on the rear,Silverstar headlights from my old RX7,Sony head unit,4" Pioneers in the dash, and Pioneer 3-way 6x9s behind the bench.
I've got plans to respray the truck in the same colour, remove the rear bumper, and most likely get a roll pan, smoked clear tails, clear corners, chrome grille and bumper, new mirrors, drop the truck 3 or 4" and keep it on the stock rims which are going to be powdercoated black, swap out the bench for my Celica GTS seats, grey carpet, dye the dash and all the trim grey, recover the door panels and headliner in grey suede, get billet window cranks and grab handles.
I really don't want to do anything extreme,I want to modify the truck and keep it really clean while still looking fairly stock, but notice in the little details that it's modified. I'm playing with a budget too,so I think m budget will be blown after I do everything I just mentioned.
I absolutely love the truck, everything is so cheap. I had a '95 Ford Contour V6 for the last 11 months, and that thing was broken and in the shop every other day and I spent over $5000 in repairs on that hunk of crap. I took it to the wreckers the other day after me and my buddy beat the living shit out of it with a tire iron. The car looked like we barrel rolled it,lol. Good riddance!
Anyways, hope to learn a whole bunch of stuff here, make some new friends and have a kick ass truck soon!
See you guys around
Mike
