Introducing the Golden Dragon

Hello from Costa Rica.

I bought my '86 B2000 over a year ago and have been driving it as it came for most of that time. I call it the Golden Dragon. I discovered this site a few months ago and have been reading as much as I can about what everyone is doing with their trucks. After repeated troubles passing emission tests, I decided to get a Weber. It just passed with flying colors. I have also installed a Pacesetter alumicoat header. It runs much better now. I'm planning an engine rebuild soon to freshen things up under the hood, as well as some new paint.

I'll post some pictures as soon as I fugure out how.

welcome to the site. i can't believe it passed with the weber. sweet. i don't live in an emissions county so i never have to worry about it. post up some pics when you get a chance.

Not too much to look at, but I plan on a lot of changes. Life is hard for a car in Costa Rica. The roads are not in very good shape and repair parts are not readily available. Neither are good repair shops. I've had to do a lot of work to get this truck to be reliable.

As far as the Weber is concerned, I used the original oxygen sensor and my meter to adjust idle mixture when I went to the Inspection - They allow 4.5PPm CO and measured only 0.13. Drove out and adjusted it back to the best setting - piece of cake.
