Hey everyone, my dad bought a 87 b2000 ext cab, tan interior, repainted blue exterior, and a blown head gasket,

looking to do some sort of motor swap/ bag it and body drop,

my questions right now are

1: anyone know of some premanufactured motor swap kits? like mounts ecu in a package?

2:i know what z'ing a frame is and ive looked at pictures and kinda understand how its done, but i cant figure out why its done? does your truck have to be bodydropped for a z'd frame to be useful? (i will be c notching the rear and bodydropping about 2 inches.)

3: anyone participating in Sittin Pretti this year? (i wont be participating, but ill be there) its a mini truck show at the arlington Wa Airport for those of you who dont know.

1. not for these trucks anymore. Back in the day there was a company that made a swap kit for a small block v8 but the company has been long gone.

2. People z the frame because the front crossmember hangs below the frame a bit. Its usefull in just bagging and laying good solid frame. Most people dont notice though unless you body the truck. That is why you hear it used more frequently with bodied trucks because it is way more noticeable that you are not laying body front to back without the z or modified bd.

3. Im sure people will be hitting it up as it is a pretty popular. Its about 3000 miles to far away for me to go too lol.

thanks for the answers, but i have one more question, if you body drop the cab, wouldn't it make fenders higher than the bed and how would you fix that? thats what i originally though a z'd frame would fix.

You have to drop the front frame horns to get the fenders to match up with the cab. You have to body drop the bed as well.
