Hello all new to site

i have 1992 b2600 with a 2.0l and a Weber. Love the truck it rides like a car and is fun to drive (5speed).

I need some help from the pros. The speed limits have chenged here recently and doing 75 mph is not very easy it seems the the truck is winded running at 3200 rpms.

engine is fresh about 12000 mile milage seams normal about 22 mpg

What is the rear gear ratio? Were there options for highway gears?

Do you mean a 1992 B2200 with a 2.0 liter engine installed? If so, not that easy to go much faster than 75mph.

Myself, I have a 1988 B2200 Cab Plus with Weber, and I've cruised at 80mph in 4th geat and been up to 88 in 5th gear, but that's on straightways. Going up mountains there just isn't that much power, can't always even keep it over 75 or even 65 on hills, depending upon traffic, steepness, and length.

it is a basket case the 2600i engine was gone some one replaced it with 2.0 then it blew so it was retired to a goat field.

i picked it up rebuilt engine (2.0) and her i am trying to keep up on highway.

Are the RPMs up in the 3K on your at 75+?

just looked thru the tech post (very helpful) i could have a clogged fuel sock or restricted fuel line (this would explain why when i do go into the second barrel it has no effect just noise).

Also found out there is no other gear ratios for the rear end

thanks

The actual rear end axle gearing is 3.909 on ALL b2000,b2200,b2600 the 4x4 came with 4.11.My truck kicks it up to 70 with ease with 198k with no rebuild yet.Yeah the rpms are higher, and I do not have a tach but you can hear it for sure.

funny i found this. i was wondering this today. my truck (91 2.6 auto) pulls about 3k at 70. so my truck also has 3.90's? guess i can't really much to change that if all the b series trucks came with the same thing. its weird thought, 5sp should have different ratios.

From my recent research the 2600i manual trans had 4.10 gearing, and after talking to bilbo automotive to find out where he got 3.76 rear end, he was using the rear differential out of an automatic... So maybe try the rear diff from an automatic...?

Well to my knowledge the b had 2 axle ratios period. One was 3.90 regular bseries manual or auto.4x4 soley had the 4.11 auto/manual.Mazdatruckin had this stat but, still down. But only two rear ratios for the b. My 5spd is def 3.90

I'm not sure exactly how accurate that is...
