new to site, new to these mini trucks

picked up my 91 the other day, pretty straight. not too fond of the wheels that came with the turck.





little dent on bottom of the fender but not too worried about it


interior isnt too bad, only down fall is the passenger seat is missing one of the bolts that mount the seat to the rail, who ever had this truck drilled out the door panels for bigger speakers, so i would like to replace those eventually, the little screws that mount the trim around the shifter and where the radio sits, oh and the radio is missing.


i found a guy parting out a 93, i got a couple bolts and misc. hardware the truck was missing, im debating on putting the bumper back on the back. not too sure tho.

future plans, need to fix the exhaust leak, do a tune up on her, i would like to get some headers, maybe do some motor work. not sure tho. let me know what you guys think!

What up man, welcome to the scene! I think you'll like your Mazda, I liked my old one so much I bought another one now I have "flash" lol. I like the truck its like a canvas waiting to be painted. And about the wheels man I feel you, but they'll work for now. So what are you plans besides what you listed, any custom work or just a good lookin daily driver?

I'd like to do some custom work, right now I just want to get it running right, the last known maintainence was done 1/21/11 or 180k, the truck has 179k on the odo. As far as custom work I would like to do some head work, maybe some high compression pistons and port match everything, I would like to go lower, maybe another inch or so. Obviously needs some paint, I would like to bring it back to its original white color. And last I would like to do some custom interior work, like maybe wrapping the door panels and head liner?? I would love to do some kind of engine swap but I havent found anything so far, maybe sr20? Maybe a v6?? If nothing else I would like a little peppy daily driver. Diesel is gettin too much to drive my lifted silverado. I was also toying around with the idea to make it look like my silverado (wheels, paint, an maybe the some configuration of lights). Here's what my silverado looks like now.

Fabtech 6inch lift, 20x12 fuel hostages, 35x12.50x20 federal m/ts, black housing lights all the way around.

Dam the wheels on that silverado are sick,I like the ride height too its got a nice lift. I think that color would look nice on the Mazda with black wheels Hell yea! As for your motor I think a swap would be cool. If you just wanna little more performance depending on whether its FI or carb, weber and pacesetters are the norm for these trucks. I've tried getting engine internals pistons heads and such but no luck, back in 2010 there was a company that did a kit but I think they went out of business or something cuz I can't get to the site its on Google but it won't connect. Oh, and as far as the interior if you can dream it you can build it lol.

yeah i have been doing some reading on the pacesetter header. i would like to do it, however i needto pass emissions for the next 3 years before i can do that. Im not too sure if it will accept all those lines that run from the aircleaner to the stock manifold. Same goes with the Weber Redline carb. So depending on after i get the truck to pass emissions, i dont know how long that is good for. maybe if you took the dimensions of your interanals and tried to find something the same size? thats what im going to try and do. i think i have the paint scheme figured out for my truck already. just have some more drawing to do. btw jjm your truk looks pretty clean

That's a good Idea with the internals cuz you can get them made for the truck but its very pricey. Thanks for the compliment man, its the first one I've gotten on this site! My truck is my pride and joy and my idea of a good day is cruzin it, bumpin the subs and grabin another gear So let me know how your search for the dimensions on the internals goes! Cuz ill be snatchin some up lol.
