Hi my name is Rob and I'm a funkaholic.

I recently re-inherited the first vehicle I ever bought after my father-in-law passed.

It's a grey 1990 B2200 cab plus. I bought it brand new with a down payment this same man gave me.

When I was able to get a new Cadillac CTS in 2002 with my own money, my wife and I gave it to him as a gift since he pretty much paid for it.

He loved it and drove it everywhere, favoring it over his large Chevy conversion type van.

Unfortunately, he didn't take care of it as well as I did. It's in need of lots of TLC to get it back to the way it was in 2002.

My first born, will be 16 in a few years and my plan is to have it ready for him to be his first car when he gets his drivers license.

It runs, but kind of barely and the appearance is run down.

I guess that's it for now, I'll be in touch.

First off, Sorry for your loss man. Second off, welcome to the scene. If there is anything you need help on, don't be afraid to ask. There are a bunch of guys/gals on here with great knowledge and ideas. Just don't be afraid to ask for the help. Lets see some pictures of the truck.

What up man, I think its really cool that you want to give the truck to your son. My suggestion is that you let him help fix it up, he will appreciate it even more and will respect it. Welcome to the scene!

Welcome! That sucks about him passing away. Sorry to hear that . It is cool that you want to keep the truck in the family though. What are your plans for the truck? Hopefully your oldest wants to help in the restoration on the dawg. Oh and post pics!!!

I'm sorry to hear of your loss Funky.......I hope your wife is handling it as best as can be......unfortunately, I know how she feels man.

I think you have a very neat opportunity here with your truck and the history it has........and yes, get your son involved also, but I'm sure you already had that plan in place!

Welcome to the Scene, and we'll all be cheering you on and helping as much as we can, and don't be afraid to post the ugly pics! That's what is the neat thing about starting your thread when the truck is in sad shape, and then watching it progress into a worthy vehicle that your proud to drive!

Post up those pics man!
