I expected to have a few issues with a truck having 200K on it, still I'm a little suprised to find that after a drive when the transmission warms up it gets hard to shift. The darn think acts like the clutch is not actually disconnecting the engine/transmission at times. Anyone else have this type of issue with a 5 speed? I could use some help getting a handle on this as I need dependable transportation. I'm just about to go back to work after being off for some well needed back surgery and I have a limited mobility and cash both.

first check slave/master for leaks, then check the movement/how far throwout arm is or isn't actually moving.it should move a good amount(at least a couple of inches or more).free play in the pedal, the amount of pedal movement before you start to feel resistence from the clutch 7/8" to 1" is a quick way to see if someone has adjusted pedal or slave cyl rod to compensate for a worn out clutch, either way no play(most likely worn out clutch disc)or too much(start looking for linkage probs)will point to the malfunction.last and kind of rare, but it happens, pilot bearing can sieze and act like clutch is not releasing.in a simple explanation, it locks input shaft of transmission to the center of the crankshaft. hope this helps.
