My name is Mike.
I have been a Honda fanatic since I could reach the pedals.
About 6 months ago, I blew up a boosted CRX and called it quits.
In need of a ride I found an '87 B2000 longbed 5-speed for $600.
The bed is littered with rust holes, the gas tank leaks and the gauges don't work.
It took me about a week to decide to bag it.
I bought tank, compressor, valves, plumbing, and electronic controls. Everything except mounts.
I thought it best to purchase another ride before I destroyed the suspension on my daily driver.
In my hunt, I found my next B. A '90 B2200 shortbed auto for $800.
This is fairly clean, for a used truck. The major problem being that first gear was slipping.
Over the past few months, the transmission has quit completely.
And today, my 2000, I believe has blown the carb gasket. It sounds like a horrible vaccuum leak and the truck will not go over 10 mph.
So as any logical person would do, I've decided to part the B2000 to make a nice B2200.
First thing to do, is going to be swapping the 5-speed tranny into the auto truck.
The only problem I forsee as of now, is a plug on the firewall of the auto truck, where a rod comes out of on the 5-speed and the clutch pedal pivots on. But I'll fight it when i get there.
Today, my little blue, I took out the shifter and began disconnecting lines from the tranny.
I also dropped the driveshaft. Hopefully, I will have the tranny dropped completely this weekend.
And of course it's mandatory to remove the bed anytime you do any work on a B
Farewell for now
