Hello, just saying hi. I live on Fort Bragg,NC currently serving in the Army (active duty). I'm a mechanic for the Army been in for six and a half years not sure how many I have left. I have AML (luekemia) don't think they'll let me stay after this enlistment. Anyways enough of the sob story I have a 1988 B2600 SE-5 with 185xxx miles on the body, 40xxx on a Jasper motor(the garbage 2.6 liter) havent done much to it. expect for the stereo 500W four channel amplifier running 2 6x9's and 2 6.5 inch pioneer speakers and the head unit is running 4 4inch pioneer speakers(it's loud!!) my plans are to put in a 302 I found an adapter plate through summit that will allow me to use the stock 5 speed mani. And yes the transmission can handle the 300+ horse power same trans and the rx-7 and they run 300+ easy. I'm going to swap out the rear diff with the rx-7 LSD and maybe do the same for the front. The guts will should swap into the stock axle with ease. I have all new ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arm and pitman arm sitting in my garage just haven't had the energy to do the job yet(cancer ya know).

Do you have a link or part # for that conversion kit for the 302? Sounds intriguing... I'm sorry to hear about your health. My dad had stage 4 colon cancer he pulled through. I hope the best for you and your truck! Keep us posted!

Just google toyo kogyo transmission adapter (thats the B2600 five speed mani) it'll pull up its call advanced adapters I believe. Look for the summit link. You'll also need to find a bell housing for a 1987 f150.
