Hello, I am a brand new member and hoping this place will bring me some people to point me in the right direction in modifying my 94 Mazda B4000 LE extended cab

I am looking to lower it but have never lowered a truck. is it complicated? what is the easiest and cheapest way to lower it? also looking for some companies to buy from. Im far from being a grease monkey but willing to try.

Also can't seem to find much on making the engine bay look pretty or make my ride quicker. any suggestions would be awesome!!

Looks like you already have a nice start. Your year Mazda shares most of it's parts with the Ford Ranger. What size motor do you have?

We offer a 3/4 drop kit from DJM that will give you a nice stance! As far as complicated, to me it's not but I've done my fair share of Ford Ranger Drops. The kit we offer comes with complete instructions to guide you through the process and we could help if you got stuck. With a couple of buddies you could knock this out in a weekend but you will also want to get it aligned when you are done. We recommend you also get the pinion shims since you have an extended cab.

This is the same drop on a Ranger

Hey thanks for the reply!
I have a 4.0L V6

Is the front suspension the same as a car? my car buddies have no clue how to change the rear. I would like a whole package.

also my engine is completely stock.

and I'm looking for a grille. unfortunetley Ford Ranger body parts (lights, grilles) are a little different.

I have a auto hobby shop on my base I am allowed to use. are the kits direct replacement?

thanks again for the reply

No problemo.

The 4.0L is a good motor. If you are looking for aftermarket parts there are super chargers, exhaust, chip etc.

The front suspension looks like what I posted, it uses an i-beam type suspension. For the rear you would use the brackets included in the kit to flip the axel on top of the leaf springs.

I saw your other thread and 1k sounds about right for a shop to provide the parts and labor. If you check our site out we can get you the kit for under $400. The kit is a direct replacement, no welding or fabrication needed!

Have you lowered a car before other than replacing the springs? It's essentially the same process, unbolt and bolt in the replacement parts. If you are comfortable lowering a car I would say you could handle this. There are more parts involved but don't let that scare you.

Awesome thank you. I am definetly interested in a kit for under $400. and that will essentially lower the front and back? I have (with the help of friends) put lowering springs on a car. its the rear suspension that looks intimidating. and yes I would like to order a kit that has all the essential parts and with the help of some buddies, I will knock it out over a weekend. Do you know what size rims and tires are on that Ranger? My goal is to get rid of the gap. I have 18s on low pros right now and as you can see its quite a large gap.
much appreciated!

Yeah just to give you a heads up if you don't already know. Truck Drop kits are usually named to reflect the drop like number 1/number 2

number 1 = front drop
number 2 = rear drop

So that kit will lower the front 3 inches and the rear 4 inches. You probably already knew that but in case you didn't, now you do.

That Ranger has 18x8s on 245/40/R18 Tires. I think you get rid of the gap with that kit but its hard to tell with out a side shot.

That price doesn't include shocks but you can use stock shocks for awhile. The pinion shims I recommend you do when you install the rear kit.

Let us know if you have any more questions.

haha no I didnt know that. The springs I had on my FTO were just basic spring set. thanks for the info. Are you able to post the links of the kits you are talking about? and the pinion shims. (never heard of those haha)

I have much to learn!

Thanks!!

Here is a link to the 3/4 drop kit on our site.

This is what the pinion shims look like

I heard it wasnt pinion shims but some sort of other shims that I would put on my truck. But just not sure
this is what a guy posted
If you have an ext cab you will need a carrier bearing shim to correct the drive shaft angles
