Hi, I just joined the forum, I bought this b2000 like 6 months ago and have some issues with getting it running properly. I would like to find some forum members in my area, I have done a compression test because the engine runs wonky, and my test concluded cylinders 1. 150 2. 150 3. 0 4. 0
so i have two dead cylinders, and i recently took the valve cover off and had a friend turn the car over and all the valves are moving, I will have more time tomorrow, to figure it out but the previous owner said he had a new engine put in, but the truck was overheating before he parked it. I bought the truck at the auction because of the cool wheels it has and because it ran at the auction. I checked the coolant and there is no mix of oil and coolant, so what could be wrong.

if anyone is local here in los angeles, feel free to shoot me a text lets link up, 310-729-9082- Steve

Hey, nice to have you here. rings might be bad or a head gasket, i had no compression in my number 3 cyl, but i had a hole in my piston.

Im in Lancaster/Palmdale area, my truck is currently down until i get the new motor back in. Blew my motor on friday. Hoping to have it running by this friday. Post some pictures, lets see these rims ha

Usually, when you have two dead cylinders right next to each other, the head gasket failed.
Given the history of these engines, and the report from the PO of it overheating, you'll be pulling the head soon.

head gasket can go without contaminating oil and coolant, especially when it blows between the cylinders.

My apt manager told me today that i can not work on any of my cars in the parking lot, plus said i cant have unregistered vehicles in the parking lot, so i think i might just sell this truck for parts, the wheels are really cool looking they have american classic white wall tires, with new tread, the wheels are the normal 6 lug wheel lug pattern, but they are all chrome, and have a chrome saucer look to it, like a rat rod would have. I am not sure how much a new used engine is for this, nor how much a shop would charge for the HG work, but I do know the registration is pretty high for this california salvage title truck, I did put a new battery in it,

it would only take about 2 hours to do the head gasket on the truck, you could probly get away with it. lol
