Hi everyone, I just got a 87 B2200, no start, I replaced fuel pump, old one wouldn't run even with wired direct, now truck will start, but only run long enough to use up fuel in carb, and very high idle. any ideas?

tune the carb, check fuel filter. stock carb? any fuses blown?

fuel filter new, stock carb, fuses good, truck sat up for 2 yrs,had to dig out mud dobbers [ was worried about that.

Well i'd check some fuses, i've never removed, fixed a fuel pump on these, just make sure all wires are correct and check your work never hurts, i recently removed my computer bundle nd completely forgot to re connect my headlight connection to main fuse box.

The fuel pump on a carbed B2200 is mechanical not electric.

Nick - apparently he has an automatic and an electric fuel pump. He said when he wired the old pump directly that it wouldn't operate.

He may have the old "rust in the tank" issue...
