Hi all,

New guy from NC here and just wanted to do my official "hello"

I'm not new to Mazdas or Fords but my 86 B2000 is my first B so I've been on here lurking for the past few days studying up.

My current stable includes:

86 Mazda B2000
98 Mustang GT with many mods
95 Ford F-150 4x4 and 351W with many Mustang parts under the hood
93 Ford Festiva B6 SOHC swap ready to drop in
93 Ford Festiva B6D swap on the stand getting rebuilt
93 Ford Festiva B6T swap coming soon
2008 Mazdaspeed3
1995 Ford F-Superduty rollback
1994 Suzuki Katana with a few mods
1998 HD 1200 Sportster Custom for sale

I used to be into Mustangs, F-150's, and Broncos pretty heavy but that got kind of boring since the aftermarket loves them and you can buy pretty much anything you can think of from a catalog. So I needed a new challenge and went in a completely different direction a few years ago and got into Ford Festivas I know what you're thinking..."Festivas? Really?". But I gotta say it's been great having to build almost every part you need to modify the car. It really gets you back to the roots of Hot Rodding where you either have to fab it or find it in the junkyard if you want to go faster. Almost any Mazda B series engine will fit into the cars and once you add a B6T or BPT you have a nice little screamer that still gets 35+ MPG

I picked up the B truck since I needed a junkyard runabout due to all the engine swaps we do. It's in need of some TLC and has used almost 2 gallons of oil in 1000 miles and the trans sounds like a granny low 4 spd in every gear except 4th LOL, but she still runs like a top and gets around 26mpg. I've been looking for a 2200 drivetrain to rebuild and drop in but I haven't been having the greatest of luck. I picked up one from LKQ last week but the engine is pretty much shot. I tore it down last night and the head and block have some major issues so I'll be taking that back to LKQ in the next few days and looking for another suitable donor.

I may do a build thread once I find a usable core I like. Also, I rebuild engines and cylinder heads and do port work for any local members who may be interested or need help.

Welcome to the forums. Post some pics

Thanks for the welcome

All I have at the moment are some "before" pics taken with a very crappy camera. I plan on getting a better camera and more pics as the truck progresses.

Here's a shot the day I brought it home. It's hard to tell from the pic but the truck is absolutely nasty. It looks like it had been sitting under trees for a very long time.

Anybody know what color the grill and front bumper covers were supposed to be from the factory?? Right now they kinda look like they're supposed to match the paint on the truck but it's hard to tell due to oxidation and sun damage.

Here's some underhood shots before I pressure washed everything and replaced some leaky seals and valve cover gasket. It'll need another good cleaning when the new engine goes in due to all the blowby.

Welcome to the scene! I look forward to your build.

This site is very knowledgeable and many on here know every square inch of these trucks.

If you have any questions, just ask. We are here to help!

Welcome!

Bumper sections were originally black. Not certain on the grill.

No worries

I'll be happy when I can get around to washing mine so I can actually see what the paint is supposed to look like without all the tree sap and mold on it LOL
