I have owned my B2000 since April 2011. It was a mess when I got it...a real white knuckle ride on the 5 hour trip from its old home in Michigan. Luckily, I have a kind-hearted friend with mad mechanical skills and, 5 months later, my daily driver emerged in its current road worthy form.

My truck has had an engine transplant somewhere along the way, as I discovered when I attempted to adjust the valves. So, it is a B2200 engine but I don't know the year. It has never idled correctly and I think this may be carb/vacuum related.

My plans for the B2000's future include a new Weber to replace the troublesome old factory unit, fix the driver side window so it will roll up and down as it should, align it so it will stop eating tires, new tires and new front brakes.

It has had new ball joints and tie rod ends as well as a 2" drop....blocks in the back and torsion bars adjusted down in the front. I like the look of the lower trucks, but being drivable is a priority for mine. It rides pretty hard and I don't know if that is related to the drop or if it needs something else...different springs or shocks?

Overall, it is a solid and decent looking ride that I don't see coming and going. I like the character and simplicity of it. I seriously considered getting a smaller car for mileage.....mine is currently getting 12-14 mpg....but really would rather not part with it. It should be getting much better mileage, and I think that the alignment and new carb should help with that.

Welcome to the site. Nice truck.

DId you have this listed on Craigslist recently, north of Columbus?

Yes, I just deleted all ads this week. I really don't want to sell it. The mileage is breaking me but I have decided to address that issue... Found a source for new Weber replacement carb that should help.

Do you have any advice for increasing the mileage? I'm shooting for the mid-twenties.

the best I have gotten in mine with a weber is 24. but I am a lead foot.

I'm getting 31 with mine. I have weber, pacesetter headers, raptor exhaust, stock tires, and lowered 4 inches. I only drive interstate tho 30 miles per way everyday.

If it's an automatic there isn't much you can do without changing the transmission I run a weber and pace setter header on an stock automatic and get 23 on 50/50 city highway in the summer (I park her in the winter). I do get upper 20s when driving mostly highway. You will get less than others being you have an extend cab.

If it's a manual you can adjust driving habits and for both you can simply make sure it's running correctly.

Alignment will help too because you are not fighting rolling forward with tires misaligned.

You can get a OEM carb rebuild kit for much cheaper than a new Weber (although you can get a nice running vehicle if you do a weber swap)

mines a stick, no ac, no ps. It prob does get better on the highway but I drive mostly around town. It will get better I think once I get my turbo installed and get it tuned for that.

Looks like a fun pair of trucks....a little high, a little low.

24mpg sounds good to me right now.

31mpg on the highway is pretty good....It's more than double what I'm getting now. Mine is currently all stock except for the 2" drop.

Did you notice an increase in performance with your new Weber and exhaust?
