Hey guys just picked up a 91 B2200 with the Carb'd 2.2
Definitely a fun little truck, enjoying it so far, totally night and day from my other car haha

A few questions, does anyone know where I can get carb rebuild kits? Or even an aftermarket carb, mine seems like it needs a tune up, idles kinda funny.
What is the most common engine swap? Where mounts are readily available, I like the simplicity of the current engine, but I want a little more off the line power, I'm used to daily driving a 12 second car....so this feels like it takes forever to get to speed.

Welcome to the Scene!

Weber carb and headers are about all you can do to gain a little power, and not much power. These engines are gutless and not much can be done to pep it up unless you go nuts on it.

A common engine swap is the FE3 from a kia sportage or straight up V8 swap. 13B Rotary would be nice too.

I'd be leaning more towards a 12A or the Carb'd 13b, I don't want to deal with a fuel infection system on two cars haha
But a Rotary swap is doable as I know someoen who has a 13b TT sitting in his garage....
Will it mate to the stock trans, or do I need a new one? And will the rear end live if I bolt up a higher output engine?

For now I may just do a Weber Carb and a set of headers to give it a little.
As I said, I don't need it to scream, I have a car that does that already haha

The 13B will mount to the 2600i trans with the correct bell housing swapped but not the B2200 tranny. without a turbo it will feel a little gutless off the line and at low RPM especially if you carb it. Rotary's like to cruise @ around 3,500 RPM, cruising lower RPMs will foul out your spark plugs faster. I would take the 13b-REW TT and get a PowerFC to run the injection, boost, etc. you might run into some clearance issues with the Turbos when dropping the engine in, others that have done the swap with turbos would know better than I. The rear end you can take the pumpkin out of a second gen RX-7 for the LSD and bolt it into your B's rear end, cut your drive shaft to length because the nose is longer. Stock B rear end is an open diff and wouldn't take much to grenade it.

I realised the 2200 has an open diff when I had some "rally" fun last night...haha
Thanks for the advice.
Do people make mounts for the LS series engines for the b2200?
Or even a miata engine.

You can probably find more information in the search bar but check out Tuckn's Miata Swap Thread.
