Hello! My name is Jordan and I have been reading on this site for some time now, but just now deciding to join in. I am a college student who commutes in my truck about 100 miles round trip 5 days a week. So as far as performance goes, I am aiming for fuel efficiency and longevity. Also, I am new to vehicle mechanics and maintenance so I apologize for questions that may seem obvious to you all. Last weekend, I performed the biggest mechanical operation of my life: I replaced the master cylinder in my truck. lol! Well, here are some pics...

The Interior is very nice except for the bench.

As you can see, I need to get an arm rest for the passenger side. Dig the seat cover?

And this is why I have the seat cover...(as well as a seat cushion)

Not too many miles on her... (116,300)

My new master cylinder. You can see where the leak ate the paint off of the black part it attaches to. Can someone tell me what that part is called?

I pulled a spark plug today... Is this one in good shape or is it ready to be replaced? (I told you, I am new to the scene. lol)

Some rust on the hood. I would like to repaint to get rid of all the rust. Is there anything I could do until I am ready to paint to help with the rust?

Oh, I am getting around 25 mpg right now. I have heard that mpg is a good indication of how well your vehicle is running, so that is a good sign. I look forward to hearing what you guys have to say! Thanks!

Great starting point!

The part that the master bolts to is called the booster. Your plugs don't look too bad however they are dirt cheap and a good rule of thumb is that plugs are disposable - I try not to ever re-use them.

Brake booster is the part that the paint is peeling and that roof is rusting, not the hood.

Nice little truck. I have some nice bucket seats that would look great in that truck along with a selection of different steering wheels!

Lol. I knew that...

Thanks guys. Yeah, I would love to put bucket seats in this guy... Would also like to put some original rims on it... And add a tonneau cover and spray-in liner.

Also, I imagine I should repaint the brake booster soon... How hard is it to get it off and what kind of paint should I use?

I would just tape and mask it off after sanding it and cleaning and degreasing it and paint it with a nice spray paint and clear coat.
