I wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Paul and I traded a 2001 ford focus with lots of miles for a 91 B2200 and the guy thought I was crazy but I think I got the better end of the deal

I wanted a pickup that could serve very light duty for my handyman side business and still be as good as possible on gas.

I have a 5 speed base model and I started right away with the work.

so far the body and frame are in great shape so I'm working on the functionality before I pretty her up. I put new shock's all around and removed the lowering blocks. (I have nothing against low riders I just need a truck that is functional) I replaced both motor mounts that were torn completely in two and changed the oil and set the timing.

when I set the timing the engine ran better in idle but really lungy or sergy when driving. almost impossible to drive so I figured vacume leak is likely the problem with all that emissions crap on there.

I bought a Weber carb at the advise of, well, everybody. lol and when I took the EGR valve off there was sludge in the port so I took the intake off to clean it and saw that the gasket was completely gone for half of the two outer intake ports.

I will be putting the weber on this weekend. wish me luck.

welcome.

We are all pic whores. And yes the weber is one of the best upgrades on our little trucks.

I will say one thing don't use the term lowrider around here. Our trucks are minis, not lowriders. Just a pet peeve most of us have.

Thanks for the tip, Mini Truck It is. I didn't mean to sound like I was calling all of them low riders its just that the one I bought had lowering blocks on it and the front torsion bars turned all the way down.

I will be posting lots and lots of pic's this weekend as I am going to be working on it all weekend. I took some video also to put on youtube and ill link to that here if it lets me.

I hope my pacesetter header gets here in time to put it on this weekend.

I already bought the complete rebuild kit for the motor thinking I needed it but when I did the timing it sounded really good. I will be cleaning it up real good and a coat of pain while I have the intake and header off but for now I don't think Im going to do the whole motor ill just hang on to the kit and if the smoking on warm up gets worse ill do it. for now its just a little and stops at warm up. probably not rings just valve seals.

I love working on a vehicle that is basic and simple like these trucks.

Welcome and enjoy, these trucks are awesome. My previous b2200 was lowered on blocks and torsion bars. I stillhauled around hvac units. Got many funny looks from customers but hey. Not as far to lift the darn things off and to the ground lol. You will love the tone with a weber/pacesetter combo its a nice tone and makes hondas cry lol.

Read ALL the Weber tips here and on MazdaTrucking.com.

Make sure the adapters are perfectly flat or wet-sand them on a sheet of glass. Use blue Loctite and torque everything correctly. Use a little Permatex Aviation on the gaskets. If the return spring is too weak, get a stronger one. Stuff like that.
