Hi everybody. Just bought an 86 b2000 reg cab std bed a few weeks back and joined this forum to get some help fixing it and upgrading it. The previous owner installed a "new" weber carb and pacesetter header. I say "new" because he installed it in 2010 and it looks worse thank the original carb on my dads 83 pontiac. Should it still look fairly new after only 3 years? Due to this i was wondering if it would be difficult and efficient to swap to OEM carb setup with the pacesetter header? My dad has same year and engine parts truck with an engine he had rebuilt 10 years ago and has less than 500 miles so parts are not an issue. He parked it due to something bad with the brake system and needing to upgrade to a car with a backseat for growing family. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everybody.

KEEP THE WEBER!!!! The factory carb is junk. My Weber looks nice after a couple years. Post a pic of what you got. So we can see what your are talking about. Your truck may have had an oil leak that some how got a little on the carb.

Does it run properly? I say fix what is broken then drive that truck until the end of time.

Well the previous owner said it needed valve cover gasket and there was some oil in engine bay so i quickly did that. Also i don't know if it runs properly. It does stop and go from point a to b but im getting 10 mpg and the carb makes a sucking sound when i rev it. Maybe it's not getting air due to bad air filter? I'll post some pics tomorrow after work when i buy a cable to upload them from my phone maybe a video(if possible). Then you'll see what i mean. Thank you for the quick advice.

Oh and I'll most likely keep the Weber. I understand its an upgrade very common with b-series owners.
