What's up guys. I used to be on here a lot a few years ago under a different name. I used to own a bagged and bodied regular cab with suicide doors rag top and full 4x4 metal I'll dig up some pics later. Gonna buy my brother in laws Mazda from him its a extended cab fuel injected with a supposed rebuilt motor its just been sitting since 2005. I need some help though since it won't start without starting fluid then it dies. I'm thinking fuel filters and draining the tank. Anything else I should check out?

Welcome back to the site, you may have a clogged fuel line too, you may want to go ahead and replace those and the fuel sock and or add a fuel sock to the tank pick up.

Thanks for the welcome. I was thinking a clogged line aswell he wasn't sure if he could hear the fuel pump turning on or not so I'm gonna help him this week and hopefully have the money to him this Friday or so. $500 can't pass it up. My current project is a bodied yota with diesel swap and rx7 IRS

Yeah, that's a pretty good deal, it will probably be a simple fix.

Do you have any pics of your Yota? I have a body dropped Yota project too but haven't found time to work on it since I bought my house.

You can test fuel flow by jumpering the test connector and turning ignition on, that will keep fuel pump running, or at least let you listen for it. Fuel pump only runs on cranking, or when air is passing through mass air sensor (ie engine running)
