Hey guys! And thanks for reading I'm new to the forum thing and I need some help ive got a 93 b2200 with the original 2.2 that has basically no rings the carb is horrible and makes fuel efficiency a joke and it has no power! I like to drift but now I'm limited to when it rains as I'm sure some of you are I'm a young southern guy on a tight budget who needs power! I am pretty sure there are no good upgrades to the 2.2 that make much power without costing an arm and a leg am I wrong?

Nope. You nailed it!

Welcome to the forum.
Please don't drift on public streets. There are places set aside for such things.

You wouldnt be located in knoxville would you? Judging by your pic (looks like west town mall)and screen name lol anyways I'm in east knoxville anyways I went with a motor swap in mine......if you want power ,motor swap would be the easiest way in my opinion

Welcome to the site man! The only two ways I know of to make power in these trucks is A. motor swap and B. turbo it. But since yours is carbed you will have to hunt down some parts for EFI system. Or make your own intake manifold and run Mega Squirt. You can boost it the cheap way and make quick power by using the older Probe/MX-6 turbo, manifold, and harness (which you will have to splice into yours) plus ECU and run factory boost on your truck for I'd say around 300 bucks give or take. I have seen guys on this site run boost on their carbed set up after switching to a Weber carb. But I believe you can only run about 7 psi before the fuel cuts out. Do some digging on this sit in the engine modification area, you can find some good material in there. I am currently piecing together my set up. Converting mine to EFI (which a lot of these trucks came with from the factory most up north though) But I plan on fabricating my own intake manifold for a larger throttle body, the motor and head will remain stock after new seal, gaskets, rings, and head studs of course. Then piecing together my turbo set up I want to run. And run Mega Squirt. And for the rear I will be running the old RX-7 LSD and a B2600 drive shaft. All of that together (although I have a lot of the turbo shit laying around from past cars) I figure should run me about 500-800 bucks if I can find the remainder of the parts I need and not get raped haha. And should hopefully put down some where between 250-350hp no problem. Remember these engines came from the factory turbo charged already so they are built to handle it (with in reason) And If I strike out there or it doesn't make the power I am after, or just am not impressed by what it does throw down, I recently picked up and FE3 motor for 300 bucks complete that is my plan B. I just want to be different and try to make a turd into something that is respectable and not for a lot of cash. Good luck man!

That is true to a point... But u can run higher boost if u run a higher pressure fuel pump and rising rate fpr. Also u can rig up a methanol or water injection and run higher boost as well... Just a thought, welcome to the scene

Just remember... More fuel needs more spark!
