Hi every one I have a 68 b2000 I've had for 6 years. I blew a head gasket 2 years ago parked it and brought it back to life this weekend so I could use it as a gas saver back and forth to hunt camp. After the machine shop build took 3 days one person no lift no garage
.I got a rebuild kit from rock auto for 280
Machine shop cost 250 .40 over
Installed a weber carburetor 280 no more vacuumed lines
Oil purple royal full synthetic fan belt about 100$ at orileys. I may be forgetting something but a great fun build. So I got about $810 in the build plus beer cost.... it was so easy if I can do it anyone can welcome all questions and comments

I'm going to assume that 68 is supposed to be 86.

Agreed!!! Made this mistake on my eg hatch built the motor to handle more boost and used full synthetic oil and K&N oil filter after about 1 week of break in I started to notice my temp gauge rising a bit and more smoke than usual coming from the exhaust. Then with in 2 weeks it got a lot worse. So I stopped driving it after my fear became a reality I fried my rings and seals due to blow by and excessive heat for using synthetic after a completely fresh rebuild. But a friend of mine did the same thing and never had a problem. So good luck and welcome to the site! Pics would be nice
