The Chevy T5 is hard to find, going to the wrecking yard this weekend to look for one. T5 would be great but if I can't find one for wrecking yard price I'm going with what I have on hand (turbo 350 or the 700r4). In the meanwhile, I'm in the process of fabbing the motor mounts and, using a t 350 just to line up height adjustments for the motor mounts. I'll add a pic of fab model shortly. I'm using the mazda mount, mounted to 1/4 inch steel and triangle gussets to strengthen the mount.

Yeah SinCityLocal, the T5 would keep me from having to spend $300+ for a stall to go into an automatic. I wouldn't have to worry bout stalling a 292 lift cam with the t5. I can probably order a new clutch set for half that price. I going to be on the hunt for the t5. And, I'll battle the rear end issue when it's time to cross that bridge. You are a great help with my build bro...I gotta come up with a cool name for ride!

Well SinCityLocal, i've searched high and low at the wrecking yards today for a Chevy t5. There were absolutely none, searched all day from yard to yard. Just when I started to thinking there was no hope for my project build, i saw a 94' manual shift mustang and it was calling my name. So, I stopped at the mustang and said "what the hell", "my b 2200 will see a v8 swap". Therefore; I pulled the tranny with bell housing and drive shaft front yolk, paid for it and threw it in the bed of my truck. Made it home and thought about what to do with this tranny. It has TREMEC on the top of the case and, i believe from the look of it, the bell will bolt to the 351w that I have in my shed. This swap WILL happen, one way or the other. Out with the sbc/in with the sbf 351w.

Here it is with V8 motor sitting in it! Used 302 aftermarket mounts. It sat slap dead on top of the mazda mount platforms perfectly. I wallered the slots just a little and it slid right in. I purchased a tremec from the wrecking yard from a 04-07 wrecked mustang so, it should be good to go. In the meanwhile, I'll be looking at block hugger headers and some way to install a hydraulic slave cylinder. I also dont know what size clutch kit i will need. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
