Hey guys,
New guy here, with a question no less. Can you imagine that? This may not be the place to ask, and if not, I will appreciate someone steering me to the right spot.

I have a 84 B2000 that I'm trying to build a new steering column in. My problem is the stock B2000 manual steering box has a spline on the input shaft that doesn't match any universal joint that I can find. The shaft measured out at .620 with 36 splines. I tried the Borgeson #5/8"-36 (GM) and the #5/8"-36C (Chrysler) and neither will work. The GM was so tight that I might have been able to drive it on with a hammer, and the Chrysler was so loose it was wobbly. Funny thing is they say both measure (.625) 5/8". Obviously not. Those are the only two numbers I can find listed with any manufacture that I have found. The stock u-joints are so small and flimsy, I'm reluctant to risk my life on them. If anyone can HELP, it will be greatly appreciated.
Steve
