my buddy and i began workin on it to get it running . We started out wireing up some loose ends ... put new plugs ,wires , cap, rotar . .. went to the back of the truck and took off the bed of the truck in prep for putting in the new fuel sending unit . i ran in to a problem and im sure its pretty easy to figure . but im just blind by it . If you look at this pic between the frame rail and the gas tank its a 3 way check valve . it has 1 end pluged and 2 others with hoses on em. The top of the tank has the return and supply lines and a air hose connected to the canister up front . Now my question is what does that go to (the check valve) is that part of something that is missing? im not sure of any thing .
the previous owner had put a thumper (electric fuel pump ) in because the cam lobes were bad and he didn't wanta rip the motor apart so he put that on . Now its gone . i eleminated it as the motor i put in for now don't have a need for the electric fuel pump now im tryin to piece things togother . im thinking something is missing that i don't know about lol... if i remember the diagram in the haynes manual it had some kinda extra filter or something in a angled box or something right around the area of the tank and filler neck . am i correct . I would look at the book again but i left it at my buddies ... We are both stumped as to what ti do with this checkvalve .......
any one that can shed some insight to this would be great . Thanks .
