b2000 and b2200 motors..

my friend is giving me a race cam,ported,shaved and worked head he had for his b2200 will they fit on my b2000?

yep the b2200 head and b2000 head are the same the 2000 has the adjustable lifters and the 2200 has the other ones

so it will just bolt on??

yea the block and the crank is whats differnt in the 2000 and 2200 motors the block deck hight is more then on the 2200 then the 2000 but the heads bolt the same

If you have an FI engine then it won't do too much for performance. If your carbed then you can get a lot more outta it .

I have a race cam in my FI and it's not all that great. It added a few horses to it but not like i wanted it to.

yeah its a carburated motor. will the crank, connector rods work? pistons? its a full motor but it spun a main bearing and its knocking now. he said i would have to use a b2200 waterpump on my b2000 motor and it will bolt right up.. when i put the head on will i need to do anything as far as my carb? its been shaved,re worked,race cam,ported and polished so how would I know??

the rods and crank will not work from the 2200 block to the 2000 block the water pumps are the same between them only thing is some have a squre tooth shape and some have a round tooth shape as for the rest use your 2000 intake unless he has his ported in which case just swap all your stuff from your intake to his and bolt away if he has not done anything to his intake then unbolt yours leave it all hooked up then swap heads then bolt yours right back to it you will need to buy a gasket set for the top end i would also keep the manual lifters form the 2000 rather than have the hydrolik ones from the 2200 yes you will have to adjust them over time but thay can be adjusted were if the 2200 ones go bad you have to take them apart and clean them and hope thay work after words if you dont understand what im saying which is easy i confuse myself sometimes shot me your number i can call you and better make more sinse of it all

hey thanks for the help everyone. gonna go pick it up today about 1 30, im hoping the head gives my truck a little more kick in the arse. i know the guy said it jumped time before i wonder if he didntget it all the way in time??

damnit, I've gotten to where im gonna put the race head on and im now looking for everything i need to do to make it FI so i can put a probe turbo on it. what all will i need from the probe? and whatall will i need from a b2200 or a b2000 to change it over to FI. and will both b2200 and b2000 FI work? let me know asap
