Gas Gauge Question

Hey guys.. My gas gauge is doing some wonky stuff.. If I fill the tank.. the needle wont budge at all until its down to the 1/4 tank mark and then the gauge starts working normally.. has anyone else encountered this before? And if so.. anyone know what the issue is? TIA

our trucks suck ass for the gas gauges lol. I've had 3 mazda's and nither one of them have worked at all.

to the best of my knowledge the problem is that the gauge is on a track in the tank and they bind up inside the tank causing the problem.

the sending unit in the gastank was the problem with my truck when that happened. my guess is the arm in there for the float is stuck. new sending unit for me was 115 i think.
