Watch out for Escalades

A woman on a cell phone in a Escalade hit me a week or so ago in the Mazda while I was on a delivery (Dominos 555 Deal) this woman didnt see me coming and pulled in front and I had no time to hit my brakes. so im getting a new front end from Farmers Ins. I had a body shop give me an estimate-- $3,500 maybe more. they want to charge $350 just to order and install just the grill, i was like wtf. thats how body shops get the skrilla, overcharge everything because most normal americans dont know anything about cars, then paint the car. nyways im not totaling my truck cause they offered, check out the pics its fixable. whats messed up is i was plannin on selling the truck.




motor wasnt even phased, thank you mazda gods. the womans escalade, i hit the rear drivers side quarter panel and rear wheel, and i didnt see nothin but scratches and the wheel looked curbed as f&ck. plastic caddy.

what kind of intake is that and how do you like it?

i'd tell the shop to give u an estimate, go to the ins company and get them to give you the check...fix it yourself....that isnt but a 500dollar, if even, fix

thats what i was sayin about $500, the people tacked on even the internal right side fender and just off the wall core supports and shit. i'm going to try that idea about getting the check from them. might be able to score some 4x4 fenders the intake is a weapon-r cai from i think a new corolla or toyota sedan, my friend stole it and gave it me so im not positive.

I'll tell you right now - a new oem - (or aftermarket ) Radiator core suport is gona run about 300-400 $ a new front bumper - 50 - plus shipping off ebay - same with the grill . the valance - i got mine from us autoparts for 20- shipped - ( only cause it was a deal low price ) fenders you can go to the junk yard and get a set of used 2wd fenders for about 50$ for the pair - don't buy 4wd fenders unless you want to fork out the cash and get the bed to match ( it will look odd with out the 4wd bed ) mostly its labor - if you have welding skills you can do this all your self -if not then thats where a friend who welds comes in handy .. other wise deal with the body shop -- but get several quotes - You also have to remember your truck is a 89 its almost 20 years old - parts are getting hard to find .. and most likely if you can't find the coresupport on ebay you'll have to go the car dealer route -- which is expensive . Don't get a used core support unless its in real good shape .

yea bagged89 is right i was lucky and got one on ebay, 80bucks shipped, dealer want 350 and partsyard will typically want around 100-150 for core supports

i got most of my parts from pullapart/u pull it and ebay....i fixed my truck for under 500

I found a site that had new core supports for 130 bucks

what are you going to hold the info to youself???? Let us know where you can get them.....sorry bout the truck man I would just take teh 3500 bucks and freakin redo the whole thing you can probably get all the parts you need for a $1000 or less then you have $2500 to customize!!
