I've been to quite a few car shows, mostly VW's, but never shown anything I had, cuz I never thought it was worthy Anywho, so I had some questions:

1. Is there any benefit to showing your truck while it's actually under construction still? I know some shows used to do a "under const." class.

2. Does the truck have to be spotless? As in chassis being polished etc.

3. Daily driver classes? Tips?

4. Advice on your first showing?

Thanks.

it depends on the type of show, such shows as lowrollers break the classes down very well for imports, by year and make etc, i am " under construction " but always compete in the truck import class, my trucks an import so thats where it belongs in my opinion, under construction to me is a very abused category also, but i say if you feel that your truck is show ready go for it, if your only going to get a trophy your going for the wrong reasons anyway, at least $15 to enter a show and if you win you get a $6 trophy, im not there for trophies im there to have a good time and meet cool people

good luck and hope to see you at some shows

^^ That's what I'm thinking. It gives you the opportunity to meet people. I've been to lots of shows and just walked around looking at the vehicles but never really met and talked with anyone.

i go to alot of shows, i enter in the under construction class. i have won a few trophies, but thats not why i go. i go to have a good time and meet new people. i used to think my truck was not worthy, but thats cuz its mine, ya know. my friend told me didnt like his truck but its awsome! he made the cover of minitruckin in august i think, he has the frontier with wood grain flames. he said the way he feels about his is the way i feel about mine. so i suggest you take it out and show it. youll be surprised how many people like your truck, i know i was whan i got my first compliment from someone i didnt know. talk to the people and get to know them they might be able to help you out in something you might wanna do.

I show my truck at every show i go to.. but usually ask not to be judged. I don't go for tropheys.. and i know my truck will never win one ne ways. Also.. i leave before the trophey cermony.. so i would hate to be all amped up for one and the guy that left 3 hours before won over me. I would defenatly clean your truck as much as possible... unless your going for a hoodride dirty look LOL. A lot of times its cheaper to enter the truck because it includes free admission for you and a passenger for both days.. you don't have to pay for parking or admitence for viewing.. so its cheaper. You have no idea how many people walk up to me to say they have seen my truck online or know me from the different forums i go onto.. so its defenatly cool to meet new people and shoot the shit for a little while.

theres a show comin up where i live called import face off. doubt anyone has ever heard of it. its lots of tuners but theres also some trucks and stuff. i was thinkin about entering my truck but puttin under constr. on the front windshield and then makin a poster board of the mods i plan on havin. do you guys think it would be worth entering or just waiting until i have bigger mods. as of right now i have a 5/6 drop, 90 civic buckets, h4 headlight conversion, smoked platnium tails, some painted pieces and i guess thats really about it. it only costs $25 to enter

if you show your truck, remember, its an import show so you will be judged with other UC imports, unless they have a class for trucks only. seeing how its an import show i doubt theyll be alot of stuff for trucks. i have put my truck in import shows only because my club went. its not the same. honestly dude do what you want, but to be honest, and i hope you dont hate me for it, but i wouldnt show your truck yet. im not trying to talk down to you i just wanna help, advice from one minitrucker to another. its still your call man. good luck if you show it. truck looks great!

I go and I show because I like to be parked in the action. I make fun of my trucks and dog the hell out of them, but it does feel good when other people talk about how nice it is. I could give a rats ass about a trophy since I build them to drive everday, not just show once a month. No offense to anyone who builds a truck and trailers it to shows only but I honestly dont see why you would even bother to do that. If you have enough motivation to build a show quality truck, then you should have enough motivation to drive it everyday and still keep it looking brand new. Its not that hard.
