Ive got 205/40/17 tires on my truck right now. I want to go back to the old school stock steel wheels. Are they 14's or 15's? I have a set of Izuzu steelies that are 14's I was planning on using. Anyways, I want to know...with a 14" wheel...what is the equivalent tire size to my 17's and what is the next size smaller?
I run stock 14s with 205/75/14 tires.
205/40-17s are 23.5inches in diameter
you can either go with a
205/60-14 = 23.7inches tall
195/60-14 = 23.2inches tall (what I had)
there are several other width/aspect ratio combinations you can go with, but you can;t always find them since some of those combos they do not sell, or are really hard to find.
but the 205/60s and especially the 195/60s are very common. 195/60s are very common. you'll lose a little bit of lift (not much though, like quarter of an inch), but you'll lay harder.
i miss ridin on my balloon tires sometimes. they rode really soft and smooth
195/60's it is then. Exactly what I needed.
Mark, you are a sexual God. Or so Baha tells me anyways.
