this is just not my week...

so over 4th of july weekend i put drop shocks and 4" drop blocks on the truck. all actually went pretty well. took me about 3 hours tops.
so the truck was riding great for about 2 days, then i noticed some movement in the rear end. so i got the truck up in the air and needed to tighten the ubolts back up, they were loose already. understandable, not big deal.
so the weekend passes, and this money i hear some weird squealing noise coming from the rear end. noooo! so i took of the passenger side wheel hub to take a look. luckily it wasnt too bad. the trim that runs around the hub that helps keep dust out was rusting away a little bit at the bottom, and a few pieces had flaked off. must have been spinning in there and making that noise.
yesterday i get home from work and as i get out of the truck i notice a hissing noise, look at the hood, and sure enough, smoke rising from it. pop it, then see there antifreeze falling to the ground near the back of the engine. really couldnt tell where it was coming from and didnt have time to really look at it.
something is jacked up though. so im going to have to take of the carb and get in there to see where it could be coming from. just hope it a little hose or a plug that came loose. really hope i dont have to pull the whole engine.
anybody got any ideas?

There is a coolant line that goes along the intake manifold bolts to the bottom there is a couple hoses that go into the truck maybe one of them came loose or got a hole in it. Any of those should be pretty easy to fix.

Yea 2 coolant hoses run into the cab for the heater check them they run back along the motor like lukeinva said them 1 runs straight behind the motor and across...

i sure hope its just one of those. that wont be too bad...

Sucks when shit goes wrong. Those are some crappy problems,but I don't ever wish the experience I had with my last car on anyone.

Or like when I bought my truck,it was ok..for about a month and started it up one day and just started smoking like mad and it wouldn't stop. Yeah,broken oil ring. Needed an engine rebuild with no even 80 000 miles on it.

YEAH, TWO COOLANT LINES RUN TO THE HEATER CORE, THE HARD LINE RUNS FROM THE FRONT BOTTOM DRIVERSIDE OF THE BLOCK @ THE WATER PUMP UP TO THE TOP OF THE BACK OF THE ENGINE, THEN AROUND THE BACK OF THE HEAD WHERE A SMALL PIECE OF HOSE CONNECTS TO ANOTHER HARD LINE THAT RUNS UNDER THE INTAKE THEN OFF IT WITH A SMALL PIECE OF HOSE TO THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING, & IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN OFF OF THE HARDLINE UNDER THE INTAKE A COUPLE OF HOSES CONNECT IT TO THE INTAKE AS WELL....BEEN A WHILE SINCE I PULLED MY ENGINE. THE LITTLE PIECES OF HOSE AREN'T MUCH AT THE PART STORE, BUT GETTING TO THEM TO CHANGE THEM OUT IS A PAIN, THE HOSES FOR THE HEATER CORE ARE @ $10 EA. THAT IS ALL OF THE COOLANT HOSES & HARD LINES I KNOW OF. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF FREEZE PLUGS NEAR THE BACK OF THE MOTOR, BUT THOSE ARE ON EITHER SIDE & NOT THE BACK.
THESE ARE THE BETTER END OF THE DEAL, THE ONLY OTHER TWO THINGS COULD BE A BAD HEAD GASKET OR CRACKED HEAD...I'LL KEEP MY FINGERS CROSSED FOR YOU!

Yeah hopefully it is just a hose and nothing too serious. A head gasket isnt too bad either cracked head would just freakin suck!!

just got done with it. ended up getting a small hole in one of the hoses going from the block into a line that ran into the heating vents. its was a pretty good size hole. so a few hours later, a new hose, and 2 new clamps shes all good. i hate those squeeze clamps. i got two clamps that go on by tightening a screw. much easier to work with.
so thanks for the fingers being crossed, no major problems....for now!!!

YEAH I KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT THOSE SQUEEZE CLAMPS CAN BE A PAIN!!! GLAD YOU GOT IT GOING AGAIN & IT WASN'T NOTHIN MAJOR!!
