I just installed a new weber 34 on my '90 b2200 ... but the darn (stock) throttle cable was 3 to 4 inches too short! So now what? I went to the bone yard and bought a $10 throttle cable off of a '90 Mazda 323. But it's another foot longer than my original cable ... and figuring out what to do with the extra cable - where to route it without bending it too much ... is a huge challenge. You obviously can't bend da darn cable too much or it won't function. Plus, the weber 34 linkage is located towards the front of the truck, so the cable runs right on/over the top of the valve cover by the oil cap - another problem. And ... the new throttle cable bracket that comes with da weber doesn't seem to work with the stock cable like the orig stock bracket did. Huh. Has anyone tried a cable from a b2600? At this point, I dunno whether I should abandon the weber 34 and opt for a weber 38 (which apparently has the linkage toward the rear of the truck like the stock one did), or what. (FYI: I have headers ... and I've read the 38 would be a better bet ... despite giving up gas mileage ... which is no big deal to me.) Any advice for me? Help! Thanks.

TRY A 626 CABLE, IT MIGHT BE SHORTER, TRY A LITTLE CREATIVE ROUTING TO TAKE UP SOME OF THE CABLE SLACK....RUN IT DOWN THE SIDE OF THE ENGINE WITH THE SPARKPLUG WIRES, YOU COULD MAKE SOME STRAPS THAT BOLT TO THE PLUG WIRE SEPERATORS, THEN ACROSS THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE TO THE CARB. AS FAR AS THE LINKAGE, YOU MAY HAVE TO FAB UP SOMETHING....IF ALL YOU HAVE IS A HEADER, THE 38 MIGHT WOULD BE A LITTLE OVER KILL.....UNLESS YOU INTEND ON DOING SOME OTHER MODS TO YOUR MOTOR.... IF WORST COMES TO WORST, CHECK AROUND WHERE YOU LIVE THERE'S BOUND TO BE SOMEONE THAT COULD MAKE YOU A CUSTOM LENGTH CABLE.....PROBABLY COST @ $100.

GOOD LUCK!
