I want to run an edc(as the main) and a electric compressor(or two) as back up. What I've been wondering is would you have to use one or two pressure switches? Example one switch runs both edc and elec.'s, or one switch for each.

well.........

I would say just run a 200 psi ADJ square d pressure switch because its capable of running 2 compressors, and just run a switch off or relay of the electric compressor that way its already hooked up and if the EDC every goes out go back there hit the switch and then you got air.

i have basically exactly what he just said^^^^^ i have an edc and a viair 450 as a backup, the 450 is on a circuit breaker, from the previous set up and i just turn the breaker off and only the edc runs, they are both hooked up to a square d pressure switch from suicide doors, i am also planning on installing a switch inline with the edc to be able to turn it off when i am on the highway, i was told its not good to run an edc at real high rpm;s such as on the highway

Thanks, I have a square d style switch I might have to look at it and see if that will work.

lol i just described perfectly how to do it, i know it will work as long as you run a relay off your electric compressor so it wont kick on when ur pressure switch kicks on for the EDC
