I always thought all B2600's were 4x4's, is this a flase statement? If so, is there any problems/advantages to getting a 2600 over a 2200? I always thought they were only 4x4's so never considered any, but hell, if they make a 2wd this sounds great, more HP and FI.

My next question would be what would be a good price for a 2600i (I assume the i means injection?), 1992, 193000 kms. Thanks.

2600i's came in 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive, reg and extended cab,and 3 trim levels,base,SE-5, and LE.They are all FI trucks. The 87-88 2600's (without the i) were Mitsu engines and carbed.Stay away from them. The Mazda 2600i put out 120 hp stock and were great trucks.Only chronic problem was computer failed at about 100k,but there is some guy that is on eBay will repair them pretty cheap. the mitsu engine is actually very stout. and has a fair amount of power. the same motor base was used in various boosted sports cars......... meaning there are lots of bolt on parts to enanble you for boost!!!

U r correct. i owned a 1988 Mazda B2600 4x4.Great truck until it hit 75,000 miles. All the pollution crap failed and fried the engine. When I got it to the local dealer, three similar trucks were in the shop for the same issue-pollution system failed and fried the engine. The basic 2600 Mitsu engine was used in the Conquest TSi which was a beast out of the box.My issue is not with the base engine but with the component failure that cooked so many of the 2600 engines.BJ

So any idea what a good shape (no rust apparently) 92 would go for? Supposedly it has the factory tach/power steering/topper (lol again)/box liner, buckets and console, grey interior.

prolly pretty expensive

a year ago there was a 92 2600 at the mazda dealership in town

grey on grey, 130xxxkm, pretty good body, no rust with a canopy for $6000

pretty expensive i thought, but all the other i see are quite fricken beat.
