This was posted on another forum I am a part of and figured I would share it with you all.

PLEASE HAVE CONSIDERATION FOR THE MINI-TRUCKERS

I saw you hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line.
But, you didn't see me put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.

I saw you pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk.
But you didn't see me playing Santa at the children’s hospital.

I saw you change your mind about going into the restaurant.
But you didn't see me attending a truck run to raise more money for the hurricane relief.

I saw you roll up your window and shake your head when I drove by.
But you didn't see me behind you when you were smoking with your children in the car.

I saw you frown at me when I smiled at your children.
But you didn't see me when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.

I saw you stare at my long hair.
But you didn't see me and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you roll your eyes at our baggy clothes and hats.
But you didn't see me and friends donate our old coats and gloves to those that had none.

I saw you look in fright at my tattoos.
But you didn't see me cry as my children were born and their names written in my heart.

I saw you change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.
But you didn't see me going home to be with my family.

I saw you complain about how loud and noisy our trucks can be.
But you didn't see me when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I saw you yelling at your kids in the car.
But you didn't see me pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me.

I saw you reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road.
But you didn't see me squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn.

I saw you race down the road in the rain.
But you didn't see me get soaked to the bone on my bike so my son could have the car.

I saw you run the red light just to save a few minutes of time.
But you didn't see me slam on my brakes.

I saw you cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in.
But you didn't see me leave the road into the ditch.

I saw you waiting impatiently for my friends to pass. But you didn't see me. I wasn't there.

I saw you go home to your family. But you didn't see me. Because I died that day you cut me off.

I was just a mini trucker…a person with friends and a family. But you didn't see me.

I appreciate the point about not being judgmental, even if both parties in the poem are guilty of the same thing. ?

If you want someone to not judge you, start by not judging them, first.

Or is it that the other person is thinking the same about you not seeing their good deeds?
Maybe something to consider, is considering or "seing" or "noticing" everyone, irregardless about how we look, or they look, or what we drive, or what they drive?
Rather, we should "see" whats inside?

If any of yall see me, just cuz im a christian type in a suit , I've got my lolo keys in my pocket, would you be shocked to see me crouch into my ride at the gas station?

Or, is the poem saying that when we do good things it goes unnoticed, I think maybe we are all guilty of that, but we can make an effort to be un judgmental of one another.

I did like the poem.

Dan,

I see were you are coming from, but I think you missed the point a little bit. The poem is showing how these certian instinces between the unnamed person and what they did when they had seen the "mini trucker" when refrering to the collection plate and the childrens hospital the writer is refering to what the other person saw in him was alot diffrent than the acualy person.

When the writer says "but you didnt see me" he is saying you did not see me do these good deeds wich goes against the stero type of my apperence or it could be that they (the other person) had seen this perticulaer person do these deeds but the fact that there apperence is less accepted still over shadowed.

I lack to think the wirter was trying to gain any certian respect or validation from pointing out the deeds that were done, but a better understanding that his looks are a part of him as a personal prefrence, but the deeds he has done are a better part of himself as a compasionate person and a human, .

But we are all guilty of the meaning of this poem, weither its the fat girl you laugh at and call ugly, just becuase you dont see the wounderful person she is on the inside, or the homless guy you laugh at and call a loser and a dirt bag, but maybe you dont see the struggles in his life that brought him to this low point and that there was a time in his life when he went to church and loved his family.

Maybe we should see the meaining of this peom not to be the persona mini trucker gives out but that we as minitrucker know how it is to be judged so we should embrace people for who they are not what they look like or choose to style them selves arround.

I agree with Dan. It seems people feel they don't wanna be judged yet at the same time, we/you judge. I am absolutely against judging people on how they look. Of course sometimes it's automatic sadly, but I truely try not.

There were some things that didn't really fit the poem, but for the most part it was quite good
