83/84 body style

is there any difference in these 2 trucks? i am looking for a parts truck and i found an 84 that is about 900 miles away for 1000 bucks. it runs and has a 5 spd so this would be a great buy if they are the same truck.

I think that body ran from 78 to 84 with minor difference in the grills and some had duel head lights and some and single I used to have a 79 B1800 that looked just like yours but it had duel headlights. miss that truck (it was my first)

I got an 83' and an 84'... there exactly the same so far everything has swapped over.

most of the parts on my truck are from an 84.

Everything has interechanged perfectly, I think the main difference is most mazdas in 84 had a long bed.

so, if 78 to 84 are the same and 86-93 are the same, what's an 85 look like?

There was no 85 Mazda PU.

thats not 100% correct Mazda did not build a pickup for a the 85 year but some 86 were sold before the year switch so they had to be sold as 85 models. I have seen one on here listed as a 85 and my grandpas was listed as a 85 so the correct way to say it is 78 to 84 and 85 to 93

was his truck registered as a 1985 mazda?

I'd be curious as to what the 10 digit is in the vin number of the truck. I have heard people say they have an 85 mazda but I have never seen one or seen a part number or listing for an 85. Its kinda like a 64 1/2 mustang? was that the true year or did a 64 1/2 not really exist,was it just a 65 that came out in late 64? Who knows.
