Well, its a very odd situation I have here... I don't think its the ground cables either... So yesterday I pulled my bed off to replace my fuel sending unit. As I did so, I looked at my wiring for my tail lights. Down the whole loom, I did'nt see any damage that could possibly cause my lights to act funny. I did'nt break the loom open, because I figure if its not torn, it should'nt be inside either.

I'll go in reverse and my left marker light comes on in the front. When I brake, my left tail light dims more than the right. When I use my left turn signal and brake at the same time, my dad says my reverse lights come on also!

What the hell...

Short circuit in the wiring harness as it leaves the rear of the cab headed toward the back of the truck.ALL ur rear lites are in that harness and chances are over time two of them rubbed and got together and made a bunch of little wiring Gremlins for u.Lol.BJ

Yeah... I just rewired everything from that point back on my truck for about the same problems. It wasn't fun, but it wasn't too bad. Took about 6 hours to do it.

Everything works great for me now except my reverse lights. They don't work at all. I need to trace the reverse lights back a little further to figure them out. Im sure its something simple.

there is a guy on ebay who sells factory harnesses brand new old stock, if you just type in b2200 on the home page it usuall pulls right up, my wires got pretty shitty and corroded in the cab on the drivers side under the scuff plate on my old truck cause it had a leak i didnt know about

your not getting a good ground, the light is trying to find one and that is the closest way it'll get a ground, im almost positive its a bad connection at the taillight plug, rusty connection, this happens to lost of them, happened to me, usually i wiggle the plug and plug it in and unplug it a few times, that the temporary fix, but what u need to do is clean out the rust from the connections use a small file, a pick or a small knife anything that u get inside and scrape the rust out then try it and see if it worked

Mike is right , to my experience almost every time this is the culprit, the condensation in the lens rusts away the contacts, one time I used a chemical rust stripper to clean them up and it worked awesome. It could be like BJ said but to my experience if yer harness looks good its the plugs.

So are you talking about the pin connectors in the harness to the tail lights? They are removable and you can isolate them. But I dunno. Would that still cause my marker light to light up also?
