Trooper eh? I used to have a pair of Troopers. One had the 2.6 with a blown head, and the other was a 2.3 (slow slow sloooooow!). I bought them both with the intent to fix up,but never got around to it,so I sold them off.
I'm not sure if the 2.6 is the same, but it very well could be. They do look very similar.
I currently have my Mazda and a '91 Isuzu Rodeo with a carburated GM 3.1L V6. It needs a rebuild though,it's got a bottom end knock and smokes like mad.
What are you doing with the Trooper?
As for your B26 being slow...well I dunno...could be a crappy carb, crappy exhaust or something totally different. My 22 has a stock carb with a ported & polished head, block was bored out .030,and I have a stock exhaust manifold, but I put 2.25" exhaust piping on it with a Magnaflow high flow cat and Dynomax muffler and the truck pulls waaaay better now than it ever did when it was stock. Before,I used to have to fight to keep up with traffic, and freeways were scary...Now I can cruise with traffic no problem, roll on the freeways at 75-80mph no problem and the truck is just generally way better to drive.
Got any pics of the Zu?
