i have an old 350 in my dads shop anyone put one in a mazda before, if so how much work was it?

depends on if you plan on body droppin it...if you are, there is a ton of fab work....even if you dont body drop it you have to tub the firewall to clear the dizzy, thats why most people do the ford swap, since the dizzy is in the front.

I have one in my truck and it's not that bad of an install.I had to cut a little lip off the firewall for the distributor and massage the tunnel for the transmission.I am sending the instructions and a couple of pictures from my truck to sudkrap from the shop I got my kit from and when I get the engine back out I will be sending more of the engine mounts, crossmember mount and the trans mount pics that with this kit can be bolted in or welded in.The tranny mount actually is a bolt in part that mounts in the same place as the old tranny mounted. There are 4 bolt holes in the crossmember that it will mount to.The big thing that I found is getting your rad recored to a 3 core and getting your drive shaft fixed with a chevy front yoke and still having balanced right. The other is the rearend I switched mine for a 1994 nissan pathfinder rearend and as I have read some have used a mustang, s10 and one used rx7 rear. But that last one that is some real work and modification.Just take your time and don't rush it.just my opion

i didn't even think about the yokes being differant, i figured the length would change but thats why i like to get multiple opinions

My FI 5.0 ran the stock rad with 2 electric fans, mustang/mazda driveshaft that cost $150 at precision driveline and the stock rearend. I went through 3 rearends before I found out that the blocks were causing wheel hop and popping the rear end. After I took them out the stock rear end lasted 5 years of abuse and about 50 000 KM's and then I sold it. Plus the stock rear end has a pretty good ratio if I rember right.
