All 2600i's are fuelies. The 2200's that are fuelies were sold primarily in cold climates where starting was an issue.I have never seen one here locally and the Mazda mechanic I use for techie help never has either.Lots of them in Canada.I dont know if F.I. was even an option,I think u got it or u didnt.(in response to Speedster 93b)BJ

My 89 2200 is a carb and my grandpa's
92 2200 SE5 ext cab is FI.

And yes hoc, after driving my truck this winter, cold starting is a MAJOR issue. Mine does have a block heater though. Some day when it was really cold,it would take me 5 minutes of trying to start it before it would hold an idle.

what a beauty. nice steal man.

every trucks different im sure, but i've never had a problem starting mine in the cold. its been -40c some days and still no problems.

the only thing is that yeah it'll warm up within a reasonable time, but all the clutch and brake fluids seem like their frozen solid and take like 10 minutes to feel normal again lol.

I dont see how u ever get a Nikki carbed 2200 started in Canada. It rarely gets below 30 degrees here and my 2600is pop right off.My poor little 2200 coughs ,snorts ,farts out black smoke, and shivers like a coon dog crappin peach pits before it settles down and runs.I can only imagine whats it like to start one at -40 degrees block heater or not.Lol.BJ

lmfao hoc.....funniest post ever!

On stupid cold days,I have to pump the gas pedal about 5 times and crank it over, then if it does fire up on the first try,I've got to keep it around 1000rpm for it to hold an idle, otherwise if I let my foot off the pedal the truck will instantly stall. Not to mention the insane valve tick.

Let's just say I've called my truck some bad names when trying to start it. I'd really like to get my hands on an FI setup. Driving a carbed truck feels so coarse compared to an FI.

He-he. I think we all should combine on an audio tape and call it "our worst Mazda moments" and tape us all trying to start our trucks on cold am's.Then some bright soul could set it to music, like Wagners "Ride of the Valkeries"(remember Apocolypse Now).It would be hilarious. Can u imagine the profanity and creative cussin going on.I'm laughing just thinking about it.BJ

Mine is an LX. Why did it not come with AC?! LOL!

I have a chrome bumper that I want to get rid of, and a backglass sliding window...

I've got full door panels, with map pockets. But they are trashed!

Up here its only about 0-20F on coldest days and I have big problems starting mine!

AC was actually a dealer installed option as was cruise.BJ
