my buddy was running 215/35/18 on a 18x8 rim on his mazda. i thought it looked pretty good.

with stock fenders?? and was it bagged

interesting, i'd have thought that might be a little narrow on an 8" wide rim.....i think i'm gonna get some falken ziex-512's like i have on my centerlines, i have 225/50-16's on them & it is a 7.5" rim, and the tread cross section is as wide as the rim is. so i'm thinking of either a 225 or 235/40-18 cause i want the tread cross section as wide as the rim or close to it.

for a while i was running 205/60/15's that were the roughly the same size as a 215/35/18, and they tucked fine... its all about the offset/backspace.
clarification: they tucked fine before the body drop!!! now i have a cunt hair of clearance between the tire and fender at ride height.
i know that doesn't answer any questions but whatever...

well, the whole reason i'm asking is, as ya'll know i bought an
84-85 rx-7 gsl-se rear end, it has lsd, and 10" rear disc brakes.
the lug pattern is 4 x 4.5. currently i still have the stock 6 lug pattern and a set of 16 x 7.5" centerline sunray 6's, they have a 4.25 back space, which is @ a 12mm offset. they come just slightly less than flush with the 4wd sheetmetal i have. the axles & lsd diff carrier are interchangable between the axle housings.....and are both are the same width from wms to wms, i bought the rx's rear so i could have the lsd, and rear disc brakes, & in order to use the brakes, i'm gonna have to use the rx's housing. i wanted to keep the 6 lug pattern, cause i already have wheels, but there inlies the problem.
the 6 lug pattern is too big to run with the gsl-se's rotors.....so i'm gonna have to swap to a 5 x 4.5 lug pattern, and redrill the shafts, rotors, and hubs, so the ole centerlines aren't gonna work anymore

keep in mind i'm not bagged, or bodydropp'd nor gonna be (yes i hear the crowd booing) just gonna be static dropped as low as i can & still maintain a decent ride, although i may swap out the leafs in the rear for a wishbone link setup in the future. with the 4wd sheet metal i can run a wide width wheel 7" or 8", & won't sling debris up on my paint when i manage to get that far.

well, i found a set of 18's @ a good price to run with the new lug pattern, motegi dp10's glossy black painted center, machined lip, 18 x 8, 5 x 4.5, with a 30mm offset (should come about the same distance from the edge of the fender as the centerlines, maybe tuck a little more than them). so i was just wondering what size tires peeps were running with what width 18's.
here's a couple pics of the wheels

those are some real nice looking rims, should look killer on the truck. the tires that my buddy had were falkin's also, the tire had a little bit of a stretch on look and didn't stick out past the edge of the rim. this was needed to help with some tucking clearance issues.

I'm running 18s on a 225/35ZR18 tire...

I believe the width is 8.5"
