I am posting this to see how much interest there might be in bolt on brackets for a GM 1 wire alternator. This idea is coming from the alternator thread fanninator has going right now.

I am going to the junk yard one day this week to get a Sanden and bracket off of a B2200 I found last weekend. While I am there I will get the stock b2200 alt bracket and see if I can find a GM 1 wire alternator. I will compare the stock bracket to the GM alt to see if it would be easier to modify it or fabricate a new one. I imagine I could get the material to make then for about $30 to $35 and invest a little of my time getting it figured out. Once that is completed I could make a jig to put together how ever many I would need to.

Obviously this would only work on people who have weber carbs since the factory carb hooks to the factory alt. I have a solution for those that don't have a weber though. I can make brackets to mount a second alt in place of the power steering pump or AC pump. Power steering pump would probably be the easiest since not many of the B2200s have power steering (mine has power steering, but its coming off soon) and a lot of people use the factory Sanden AC compressor for their air systems. These brackets would require a second battery and would be a seperate electrical system from the stock system. It would work great for a nice stereo or high draw air suspension system. The alt would be dedicated to the second battery with no other systems to run.

If anyone is interested post it up here. Let me know if you would want a bracket to replace the stock alt or a bracket for a second alt. Also how much you would be willing to pay for it if it was completely bolt on including hardware and possibly the right size belt. I would like to make it as complete of a kit as possible. I can probably put together a kit that would be 100% complete from the alternator to the belt to the wiring. Just bolt it up, install the wiring, and go.

If there is some interest I will speed up the process and get it figured out quicker.
