hey guys, well before i switched it i could do over 100 took a while but it would do it. and it would bark the tires. When i changed the tranny i threw a tach cluster in,, unfortunately i pinched the speedo cable,, so all i have is a tach. and by runnin next to sumone on the highway is how i figured out my speed. by the way im runnin 15's with 195/50/15s on em. thanks for the replies,, but im still at a loss for what to do,, im in the mountains and by the time i get to the top im in third gear barely making it,, and at the lights i gotta redline it just to keep up with traffic. haha oooooo i cant wait for my 350.

bj, and immortal are right, the rear ends gearing are the same in the mt & at b2200's, they only change in the b2600's....

with the 195-50-15's (22.6" dia.) your running a smaller tire diameter than came on it factory, i think those were 205-75-14's (26.1" dia.)

the 14" tires turn 796 times in a mile, the 15" ones turn over 917 times in a mile.....

there isn't much you can do to correct that less doing some tranny mods like swapping the 5th gear out of an 80sumthin model rx-7 tranny into the trucks tranny, or changing out the bellhousings, yada yada yada.....

only solution i know of for re-gearing the rearend is to get an 84-85 rx-7 rear end, and swappin out the chunk, it is lsd, and has a 4.07 or 4.08 gear ratio, which won't do much for what your wanting, less getting you off of the line quicker......

wow that sounds to complicated for me. i was thinkin bout if the tires were shorter,, but i always had them on,, it appears i have a serious mystery here, i just dont understand how i lost my low end and top end at the same time??? I have a 4x4 rear end off my parts truck too,, would that be better? hey has anyone ever seen an xtended cab with 4x4 sheetmetal off a straitcab,, i was thinkin bout sectioning the frame in and makin a scraper out of it? Anyways anything else would help guys

4x4 rear end is geared even lower than ur current one, about 4.01:1 if memoty serves.even less top end.BJ

Sorry for the delay - yes you are probably correct. Her tires are 225 40r18 which if I remember correctly are slightly smaller than the factory tires. If your 15's are a little bigger, then that would explain the difference. NYTRD24's comment is also pretty good - lot of good info out there somewhere, just gotta know where to look
