Well if it's a one wire alternator, then you bolt it to the motor as shown, and then run a heavy wire from the threaded stud to the positive battery post. And if you get a regular delco alt, one of the blade connectors hooks up to the charge post and it's the same from there. Does that help?

i do have the chrome GM 1 wire on my truck, basically the one wire is just a wire from the back of the alternator to the battery, and the alternator won't start charging untill u hit 2000rpm i believe, so just give the motor a quick rev when u start it up, as for mountingin yes i just flipped it upside down, and it pretty much bolts up, just a little different them stock. i took some quick pics, its just mocked up, need to get new bolts and stuff, I got the alternator off ebay for 150$, 110 amps

Quick note - of the 2 smaller wires on a plug that went to the back of the stock alternator, one is used to turn on the stock alternator (not needed any more) and the other is connected to the idiot light on the dash. If you are running aftermarket gauges, then it in not needed. There is also another small wire on the back of the alternator that goes to the factory choke - again, depending on your setup you may not need this.
