I've got a big problem my fellow bretheren! This pacesettere piece of crap!

I've titghtened the bolts on my header as tight as it comes! I'm having a big problem of the header hitting the bellhousing on the transmission! At certain idles it just rattles against it like CRAZY! It makes it sound like my truck is going to fall apart!

Anyone experiencing this problem?

I've tried EVERY STORE here in my city to get something to put between it so it does'nt rattle! Only thing anyone has is header wrap! I do not need 50ft of header wrap!

I need like a foot at the most! Does anyone have any scraps laying around?

I've also thought about welding a rod to the header and pushing it away from the tranny... Might not work since it probably wont give... Or maybe put a big dent in the side where it hits the tranny?

Last resort kind of stuff, if I don't get my hands on any header wrap... Shoot all you would have to do is put it in an envelope! LOL!

I'm pretty desperate guys! Nothing is working to stop it. What about fiberglass mat? Would that have any heat resistance?

why not pull the header, find a torch, heat the header, get a machinist hammer and pound a flat spot in it that will clear the flange?BJ

you need to be careful of overtightening the header studs, if not to factory specs, you'll end up warping the flange, and it won't seal correctly...only fix there is getting a machine shop to plane it flat again, and that would probably cost as much as a new header......

what part of the header is hitting? the collector, or the extension that has the 02 bung on it.....as long as it isn't the collector, you could carry it to an exhaust shop, and they could bend a piece to go around the bellhousing, and weld an 02 bung on it to replace the piece that came with the header.....

Can you not make a brace that can be welded to the header then bolted to the motor like were the motor and the tranny meet and us a bolt from there to bolt to that would stop the vibrations and then use some kind of gasket thicker than what you have and re bolt it up
