So the HALT begins...

Well...as most of you dont know, I'm engaged. Well, I am still living with my mom and lil sister. I been looking for a place now, for over a year. Well, changing jobs, working locations and all that, kinda hampers the finding of a house. Mind you, I'm budget minded, but I also want my home to be in a safe place. Well, Sallie Mae (student loan people) kinda forked my credit to hell and back, so a house was ruled OUT.


To summarize my personal fit with the family, my dad bailed out on my mom in July '05. Since then, she and my lil sister have been spiraling downwards. We went from a 1500 sq. ft. house in nice neghiborhood, to a single-wide trailer on family's land. I went from paying for my truck, and having money to pay my bills on time and STILL have money to play with. NOW I gotta pay for cable, internet, and every other month I am paying the electricity, FOR 2 MONTHS...go figure. Well....I'm WELL fed up....


My fiancee goes to church with a lady to owns apartments in a town she lives near. Well, lady moves out, room is available, we look, we like, I get the keys. Its NOT cheap, but it beats the hell outta living with MOMMY, which I am more mature and level minded than her anyway. Tonight she comes in here crying...told my girl to get out for a few, and asks me whats wrong, and what has she done and this and that, and all kinda odd crap. So, i told her nothings wrong and all that, but in the back of my mind...I was thinking.....once I am married....I'll be a difft person. My girl's family is much more responsible, and more concerned about 'Their Life' so to speak. I wont go into details simply because its an embarrassment to not only myself, but my soon to be wife as well.


So...the mazda....
ripped out igniton switch, replaced with race style switches
bought weber carb, checked it over, cleaned it up
bought pacesetter header, never put on
head is being revamped by RocketAlpha and a reputable shop.
Also got MSD ignition for the dawg.
Doors need shaving, as well as tailgate. Alarm with options need to be installed.
SOund system needs to be put in.
Have a set of Z71 wheels to get for $100 with new tires, and I NEED to smack the farker, she's too high.
Also need the rest of the exhaust.


The apartment will severely stop this from happening soon. SO...lol...I dunno. I'll work on it as i can, I guess.

damn man sounds bad.........

ive been in that boat and i believe alot of us on here have gone through it. there were many times that my projects got put aside due to financial responsonbilities. it'll turn out good, you'll see

This is the messed up part tho....this is NORMAL shit for me. lol. This really isnt anything unusual. To the outside eyes, its normal. I wanted this truck driving within a couple weeks. Going on 2 months now. I wanted to replenish my tools and equipment I had before my father left...no way I can do that now. It'll take time. And by the time I CAN, we'll be getting out of the apartment and into a house. Another HALT I'd assume.

Each thing just adds fuel to what I want to do. Adds more thought to new ideas I have, and adds more detail to what I want to do. Whyen this mazda IS built... it'll be the truck I've dreamed of for years.

Man I know what you mean. At one point in time I was living in my truck. Ex wouldn't let me see the kid or nothing. Well... Being the crazy person I am I pushed harder. I eventually ended up remarried to a wonderful wife, got custody of my daughter and had a nice house with a 24' X 30' shop.... so the truck was on. Then got offered a much higher paying job...9 hours away. So had to sell everything to pay for the move and now I am in an apartment but most bills are getting paid and looking to have DIB build me my dream truck...soon. So keep your head up time will come.

I live within an hour of DIB and know a couple of them...

Sweet. I have only met Duck once, and Jamey twice. I met the guys up at Midwest Dragfest in MO. I am originally form there and have not missed that show. Anyways they seem like the right people to build this one of a kind project. Now I just gotta finish getting the $ together and get the parts located.

Keep that chin up and stay strong! If your going to get married, your going to be the leader and provider of a future family. Remember that.

Family is more important than any materialistic thing in life, even our mini-trucks! Organize your priorities and take care of them.

Just remember, love your family and die for them. Your mother went through alot to get where she is now, and you need to support her in her hard times.

Think about it, one day you will be doing better off than her, and she is going to realize how much you have done and she may learn. Be a role-model for her. You gotta be the "man" now!

Just my thoughts... Don't wanna be a preacher and all now... lol

Your dad is an ass face he has already learned that ,but don't hold it against him you will never get anywhere like that.

I love your mom we talked about hooking up again but there is just to much of an age difference.She well gather her self and your little sister is going to learn how not to go about things, because of what she has seen.


Pull everything off the Chevy put in mazda, but the stereo sell it finish the truck(mazda) problem solved.

I am hoping the head well be done by wensday.

If you every hurt amanda i will cut your balls off.

The focking head was warped too bad. So, if I cant get another head for next to free. I need a rotary. I'm almost done with these unreliable buckets.
