Worth it?

On my way driving downtown to get onto the highway to my job, I found this truck on the corner of a body shop. I was curious about it so I turned around.

Upon further inspection, I find the guy wants $400 for it. But theres no motor! Its a 2600, so I could pull the front 4wd sheetmetal and then take it to a junkyard and make the rest of the profit off of it. That is if no one wants anything from this truck.

I was just wondering what your opinion would be on this. Buy or no buy? If it had a motor I would have bought it already so I could use it as a beater for hunting... But I guess it'll have to go the other way...

The bed is in good condition. A couple rust throught spots that can be fixed. Dents and dings and scratches all over. Thats okay. The interior was in really good condition! Underside of the truck was rusty and looks like it needed quit a bit of repair...

Now kidding man offer $300. If he says no then even at $400 it is a steal. Being a single cab 4X4 probably has buckets as well. You know the sheet metal is at least $400 worth. Then another $100 for the seats. $20 for the center piece on the bottom of the dash. Doors, windows. Hood. Shit man do it. If I still had my shop I would be on my way to grab it!

id do it just part it out that is if you hav ethe extra space to keep it while your parting it out

Dang it! Okay so I waited for an hour at the place where truck was after he said he was on his way! Called him off the hook and no answer!

I believe he said he was leaving for Reno tomorrow for hot august nights. Thats why he said he was selling it. I talked him down to $200 for it but its no use now if I cant get ahold of him!

Imma try tomorrow... cause its such a good deal really...

We talked today and originally he said he'd give me $150 for it to tow it to the junkyard to sell it to them. But I want it now that I think of it!

Well no good! Today I called him and one of his friends picked up. The guy already left for Reno. I asked if he still was selling the truck. He got rid of it.

I gave Pull-n-Save a call, which is the junkyard I called about selling the truck to. Turns out he sold it the junkyard!

I wanted to tell him I would rather buy it from him yesterday when I was supposed to meet him..

Ahh... crap... The junkyard said they would sell it to me for $600! I would never pay $600 for a freaking truck that does'nt even have a motor! Wow...

Well, I guess I was'nt meant to have the truck... I wanted a 4x4, dang it...

dan dude you watch when that whreckers finds out how hard that box is to get in that kind of condition. they will want $600.00 just for the box.

Yea... I'm reaaallly kicking myself right now for not buying it right when I saw it...

I just did'nt think it was worth the hassle revbuilding the motor at first since it is all FI, and FI parts are expensive if they have to be bought brand new...
