i just spent a lot of money on the 83 today! i got a gm 1 wire chrome alternator



a d34/78 yellow top optima battery



a magnaflow cat (2" id and od)



and a magnaflow muffler also 2" id and od



now i have to go get new tires put on, get it registered and inspected and she will be my daily. i am still looking for a good deal on a new set of compressors but i think that will have to wait for now.

keep up updated on the alternator...well is the setup the same as 86-93? -bf

yes the alternators mount up the same way. i will keep you guys updated.

how much for that bling alternator I seen them averaging $120 on ebay for non chrome around 120+ amps

damn! i thought it was a 105 amp but it is only a 65 amp. still more than what the stock amperage is so oh well. i guess i will get a quote on beefing it up or something.

Nice lookin electricals!!! Exhaust is gonna sound pretty sweet also. Recently setup the daughters truck with an EDC, next mod will be an alternator that puts out more than 50 amps. So definately keep us posted.

? - if the 83 is gonna be your daily (which is VERY cool), whats the status on the 59?

well, i was going to get it tomorrow and it was going to me a project but it is looking like i am not going to be able to get it just yet. hopefully the guy will save it for me but if not, oh well. i just don't have the funds to get the 83 100% right and get the 59. sucks but oh well.

update on that alternator. i got ahold of the guy and he is going to send me the 105 amp for only 10 bucks more. so it is only costing me 90 bucks shipped to the door. woohoo!

i get new tires put on tomorrow and then i have to pull the parking brake crap off the 84 to install on the 83...that sucks! and i still have to put the wiper blade assy on and then she will be legal again. can't wait.

oh, and slammed, the weber i was telling you about, i put it on my 83 and i love it. i will sell you the holley if you want it. actually i will give it to you, just pay for shipping bro. i hate holley carburetors. it may just need to be rebuilt or something but i put the weber on and it made a difference that words just can't express. if i were you i would just order that weber whenever you get the extra cash. it is awesome! and it is really funny because the tard that i got the truck from said that it ran better with the holley than the weber. i wonder where he gets his crack from?

Good question The Weber I have on both trucks works excellent!!!! Only issue I might have is that when it sits for a while (2 weeks plus) it seems there is no fuel in the bowl. Have to crank it for a while to pump bowl full before the truck starts. After that, purrs like a kitten. If I had an electric fuel pump, would not be writing this.
