So here is a question so what are you all using to cut the rear crossmember and your c-notch. I was thinking of getting a oxy acetlyne torch to do the cutting i have a sawz all and a air body saw and also a air cut off wheel. so what is everyone using and the easiest way to do this. just curious

a sawzall will do you just fine,
just get a fresh blade and go for it.

i would imagine a sawzall would be your best bet. just get a new nice long blade and take your time. a torch is going to make a nice mess unless you use a torch every day and are a veteran at it.

PLASMA cutter lol, actually sawzall is best for these mazda frames they have quite a few inner supports in the frame rail, making plasma not as easy as youd think, unless you have a trusty hammer like i do!!

you can cut a straight clean cut with a sawzall, but it'll take time. i love the plasma cutter, it's way fast, but you MUST clean (grind down/off) the slag before you weld to it.
a cutoff wheel works pretty bitchin too, i'd rate it between the plasma and the sawzall in speed. i like the 4 1/2" cutoff wheels for an electric grinder. way faster than air, but the disc's tend to be like 3x as thick
