good project, bad result.

i got off early today and decided to swing by autozone and get some black paint to do paint my interior. so i got home, and started stripping down the dash. and started to take main section out when i turned it just a little bit to far, and bam.... cracked my damn windshield.... RIGHT above the steering wheel... i had fun explaining that to my dad... he is one of those ppl that are like, why mess with things when they are fine the way they are... "do you NEED" , "do you NEED all that hp"....

well, i called the local glass company and they are going to replace it monday.

well i got it all back together and at least got smart and dropped the 2 bolts supporting the steering column. went in ALOT better then it came out.

needless to say. lesson learned. o and ill take some pics tomorrow when its light out.

i did the same thing, but mine had a small crack already.
when i was taking the dash out the phone rang or something so i rested the dash in place, come back to a spidered windshield, and my dash laying on my seats, still havent fixed it two years later, ha.
figure might as well wait till its on the road again.

hey! that looks like my truck. i have the zip ties holding my gauges in place too. i havent had time to put the dash back in tho. its all smoothed and ready to go, but no time.

its that vinyl paint. high gloss black. honestly the pics really dont do justice, you all know that black is a hard color to get pics of. i have some bad ass ideas for some air brush painting my friend is gonna do on it. but for now its just black.

not bad for a $10-$15.... not including my crack ass windshield.
