when you join any military service you go where they tell you and when they tell you, unless you ahve a specific duty contract outlining what you will be doing and where your tours of duty will be, they can do with you as they please, i think the army is a great career personally, you get free medical benefits, and they are very good, you get college payed for if you want, and you get to travel and see the country/world, my dad was in the army for 26 years and we live alot of cool places, alaska and hawaii were the best, if you are debating it i would say go for it, if you dont like it you can leave after 2 or 4 years,
